IMAGING STUDIES FOR BONE DISEASE

The following pictures show the same myelomatous lesion visualized through different imaging modalities: plain x-rays, MRI, CT scan, PET scan, and PET/CT (my personal archive).

It is a large lytic lesion of the left iliac wing, with cortical destruction, associated with a soft tissue component infiltrating the pelvis (measuring approximately 5.3 x 6.2 cm), causing medial displacement of the left psoas muscle and lateral displacement of the left iliac muscle, and extending into the left gluteus muscles (measuring approximately 5.7 x 7.9 cm).
